​My name is Xueying Li (pronounced as SOO-ee-ing LEE), and I am an EIPOD postdoctoral fellow in Justin Crocker's group at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).

​I am interested in evolutionary genetics. In my PhD, I worked on genetic basis of thermal divergence between Saccharomyces species. Now, I am working on evolution of gene regulatory network in Drosophila embryos.

I was born and raised in northen China. I did my PhD in the US and am now living in Heidelberg, Germany. Outside the lab, I like travel, theater, nature, and translation.
